If I like something I can't have, I can choose to be jealous, resentful, or judgy, but I would miss an opportunity.
The alternative is to get excited about the inspiration the things I can't have provides.
When I see that dreamy million-ish-dollar coffee table, I start thinking about how I can create the same thing for forty dollars and then give myself a high five.
Or, if I hate it, I roll my eyes at it and move on.
I'm always on the hunt for inspiration. It goes like this: I pay attention to things I like, and then I ask myself how I can integrate those things into my own home and life.
See how I turn everything around and make it about me?
That's the secret of being inspired!
It sounds selfish but it's not.
