Hi
For the past four years, I've made it a point to do something for my creative self every fall.
It's helpful to be in a fresh location around creative people that I respect. Beauty, and rest are top of my list and this trip did not disappoint.
1. Bar Cart It
Jeanne had two or three different bar carts set up around her home and studio. Not only are they a nice invitation to mix a drink, they look stunning. I've tried setting up some bar accessories in the past but the display always ends up getting on my nerves and I put all our bar supplies in a glass cabinet, now that I've been to Jeanne's I'm going to try setting up a bar again.
2. Details are DELIGHTFUL
I am not exaggerating when I say that I have never seen anyone pay attention to visual details like Jeanne.
From the individually wax paper wrapped and tied picnic lunch items (with a note of course!) to the swag bags and place settings at our workshop seats, and of course carried inside her house--Jeanne surprises and delights with small details in every room. I'm still shocked at how much joy I found in every little detail she attended to.
3. HONEYCOMB Heaven
I am so annoyed at myself that I didn't get a photo of the honey filled honeycomb that Jeanne included on our daily charcuterie boards. Also the photo above was at the END of lunch and the board still looked amazing.
Listen, if I were on death row, I'd want a charcuterie board and iced coffee for my last meal. I've never met a board meal that I haven't liked. But NEVER have I EVER had honeycomb much less placed gorgeously on a board and it was amazing and delicious and Jeanne, I'm so sorry but I'm going to have to copy you on that for the rest of life. I give you full credit.
I even reached out to our local honey vendor who will be at The Nest Fest to see if they are selling honeycomb--fingers crossed. 'Till then, you can buy it locally or online. Here's a video about how to serve it.
Speaking of The Nest Fest...
Hosting and hospitality are high my list of things I value, and one way I practice hospitality is by opening up our property every October for The Nest Fest and you're invited!
We just opened tickets last week and we've already sold 31% of the available 1000 tickets.
We've sold out every year, but usually that happens the day before The Nest Fest.
This year, tickets are selling faster than ever. One thousand tickets are all that our event permit will allow so once they are gone, we won't be able to open up any more tickets.
If you want to come, grab your tickets now!
And, if hosting and hospitality are something you value, you will LOVE the Cozy Minimalist Fall Class.
What's the class about?
First, it's about how to create a beautiful fall home without being a slave to a bunch of store bought decor that you'll have to pack away in three months.
But it's also about how to USE your home to this fall for hosting. I tell you exactly what to focus on and what not to worry about to have a simple, memorable gathering with friends and family.
If you already have the class, you have unlimited access to all the seasons that you own at any time you can login, even if the current class isn't open to the public. To login, simply click here and login at the top right.
Alrighty, thanks for hanging with me to the end of this long email!
Hope to see you in October!
Here's to home,
xo
